First thing that comes to mind is a improvement on the raceway for ball bearings. By putting a groove in the race way that slightly changes the speed of the bearing as it goes across automatically evens out the spacing of all the balls, which leads to "cageless" bearings

Along the same vein there are new metals from old.
"Kim and colleagues spent years devising and altering a method of heat-treating and then thinly rolling their steel to control when and where B2 crystals were formed. The team also discovered that adding a small percentage of nickel offered even more control over B2 formation, as nickel made the crystals form at a much higher temperature."
This creates a steel as strong as titanium, but more workable as well as cheaper.

What if Hospitals and insurance where combined?
http://www.modernhealthcare.com/article/20160414/NEWS/160419947
From a capitalistic view, would it not make sense that the hospital is the insurance company including term life? They would get their money from the insurance payments, making preventative health care a priority to minimize visits. To prevent them from skimping on services and procedures, the term life insurance would encourage them to keep your longevity in mind.
On a tangent, does it make sense to be able to sue a doctor/health care establishment? It's not like they screwed up a perfectly healthy person, you came in broken/unhealthy/damaged condition. I am also not advocating no punishment, there should be a system in place to penalize in order to correct issues. I just think suing is more harmful then helpful for society and healthcare system by increasing the cost for everyone.
